There’s magic when a place just feels right. Walking into a space can evoke many different emotions — whether it's the calm, soothing sense a relaxing vacation spot might provide, the energized excitement the right conference center can hold, or the picturesque romance that can accompany the perfect wedding venue. There’s a neighborhood in Tampa that captures this diversity - and it's Westshore. The hotels in the District are versatile venues with breathtaking backdrops of water views and city life. No matter what’s on your agenda, there’s a place for you in Westshore.
New Hotels in Westshore in Tampa
Recent South Tampa events — including the Super Bowl and upcoming WrestleMania — have left Tampa’s Westshore hotels nearing capacity at 92%. With 22,000 in person fans attending the 2021 Super Bowl and 25,000 anticipated attending WrestleMania each night, increased foot traffic and tourism to Tampa is on the rebound. This is part of the reason why four hotels have recently opened in the District, with a fifth on the way. Westshore continues to serve as a central meeting place for visitors, businesses, and locals looking for a convenient and deluxe staycation.
Newly opened Aloft Tampa Midtown is centrally located, modern, and equipped with a gym that is twice the size of normal hotel exercise spaces. Element Tampa Midtown is also central and open for business, while meant to facilitate longer stays with its in-room kitchens and oversized closets. On the shared rooftop of both hotels, Sal Y Mar has just opened. Here you can enjoy tapas, specialty drinks, and breathtaking views.
Looking to stay closer to the airport? Home2 Suites by Hilton is just minutes from the terminals and opening very soon. You’ll have access to all Westshore has to offer but have the luxury to sleep-in longer on the day of check-out. Another new long-stay spot, Hyatt House Tampa Airport Westshore, features a bar with creative cocktails and lite bites, a pool, and a covered outdoor event deck — and is minutes from the airport in Avion Park.
The Westshore District’s 40+ hotels offer more than 265,000 square feet of meeting space, meaning you can reserve a venue that fits your budget and your capacity requirements. From a hundred-person banquet to a thousands-strong reception (Covid-19 protocols may currently be restricting capacity), there’s a perfect fit for you here. With its proximity to Tampa International Airport, Westshore hotels are a great jumping-off point whatever your plans.
Vacation Getaways

You can filter that need. Prefer a spot with a pool and breakfast included? Make those amenities your search criteria. You can sort by guest rating, hotel brand, and more to easily identify the perfect fit for your stay.
Wedding Venues
What makes a wedding venue tick every box? It depends on the couple, of course, but one of the most magical aspects of Westshore hotels is that there’s something for everyone and every budget. Do you like the idea of getting married on the water but don’t want to leave the dock? The Godfrey Hotel and Cabanas was named one of Tampa Bay’s best wedding venues in part because of its pier that can put you on the water when you say, “I do.” This picture-perfect setting has gorgeous water views, onsite chef and catering, and much more. The Westshore Grand is a fit for anyone looking to feel like they’re hosting a million-dollar wedding without the million-dollar price tag and the Westin Tampa Bay is ideal if you want a water view without getting sand on your gown. It is hard to overlook the gorgeous scenery and serene ambiance that the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay creates with its newly renovated indoor and outdoor wedding spaces. Regardless of your hotel selection, the Westshore area provides ample choices to find the perfect setting and accommodations for your wedding and wedding party.
Event Spaces
In addition to hotels, Westshore features a variety of South Tampa event spaces. The Centre Club, Tampa Hackerspace, AMC Westshore 14, Five Labs & Conference Center, and Rocky Point Golf Course are just a few of the venues available. Many of Westshore Alliance’s upcoming events are virtual, but we’re looking forward to getting back to in-person meetings in some of these hotels and event spaces soon.
